We love satin

This season our beloved satin is featured heavily, across all types of garments. Satin is typically used for bride and bridesmaids dresses, so seeing it in our everyday wardrobe is great!

The classic long and mid length pleated skirts are everywhere this Autumn which we adore as they can make real statement in a vibrant colour or pattern! Pair with chunky boots and a leather jacket for an edgier day look, or with some heels for an elegant evening look.

Like the pleated skirts, satin shirts and blouses have been hugely featured in many designer collections and we  it! The bright greens, blues, purples and pinks are perfect for brightening up our moods on these dark nights of winter.

If bright colours aren’t for you, then the neutral shades are just as relevant, because satin looks great in any colour!

Ruffles, ruffles and more ruffles! Low waisted 2000’s apparel is slowly creeping into our high streets and along with it, the ra-ra and ruffle cuts. These elegant details can make the most basic dress look the just the part for any occasion.

The satin wrap, shirt dress is a popular style this season, a continuation of the cropped versions seen throughout the summer. This style works particularly well with a satin weave because of the way it glides across the body and can be used to highlight and flatter the body beautifully.

Satin has been used for ballet slippers for hundreds of years, which brings me on to footwear; Ballet pumps are making their way back into fashion and they go with almost everything. Like last year chunky loafers and boots are great for the winter but for a night out, grab a pair of bright satin platforms to make a statement! This material really does feature everywhere for A/W22!

If you’re not sure about, start small. Adding a beautiful satin cravat or scarf will elevate any outfit. We have a vast array of satin scarves all year round at Satin and Sox to choose from. Find our selection here Satin Scarves

The 22/23 must have wardrobe essential has to be the white vest/tank top. This basic item will be the thing that pulls an outfit together in upcoming seasons, featuring heavily on the runway, by many designers.
